Summer Travel

2018 East Braintree Little League Summer Travel teams (A and B) selection process, Summer Schedule and commitment/expectations:

The East Braintree Summer teams will consist of an A team and B team at each competitive age group (8, 9 10, 11 and 12 years old).

Selection process:

At every competitive level the Coaches will select the top 10 rated players by age group (not by division).

The top 10 players at each age group will represent the A team and then the head coach (selected by the EBLL Board) will pick 2 or 3 additional players to complete the A team roster. The remaining players and/or players interested in playing summer baseball will make up the B team (12- 14 players).

In addition to the Coaches selection there will be an additional Tryout at the 8, 9 and 10 year old age groups.  At this level the coaches will grade the players using the tryout and regular season performance.  At the 11 and 12 year old level the Coaches will use the regular season performance and past experience.

NOTE: If you are selected for the A travel teams and DO NOT want to play, you must notify the head coach immediately and the next rated player will be selected.

Summer Schedule:

The summer travel season is competitive and usually consists of 2 games per week for 5 weeks with an occasional Sunday game, one weekend tournament that is paid by EBLL and league playoffs. The season begins at the end of June and playoffs are usually completed by the end of July or first week of August.

Commitment/Expectations:

Please consider the time commitment required for summer baseball when making this decision. In particular for an A player, they are expected to make 90% of the games and practices. Likewise for a B player, the expectation is 75-80%.

If you have any questions, please reach out to one of the EBLL Board Members.

Thank you,
